When I planned to visit Leeds this weekend, I made it my number one priority that I would get in the car and drive on my own. At first I was really pumped and super confident. I drove my grandmothers to our local shopping centre and went in to buy a few things myself. I knew I didn’t want to stay there all day with them so I had made the decision that the driving back alone from the shops would be my goal.
I thought it would be fun to film a little video of the first solo drive but my car is not set up for vlogging so what you have is more of a voice over than a video. I also wanted to position my phone camera in a spot that wouldn’t be distracting for me but this also meant chopping most of my face out of the frame.
Regardless of the crazy driving lady (not me) towards the end of the video, I quite enjoyed driving on my own and being in charge of my own music. I actually felt inspired to eventually start some kind of Carpool Karaoke knock-off/podcast chat in the car with my friends as another feature on my blog.
All in all, driving on my own isn’t as scary as I thought it was going to be and I now feel fulfilled and free to roam around as I please. To watch the video, click here, I hope you enjoy it and let me know what you think in the comments below. How did you feel driving on your own for the first time? Do you enjoy rocking out to the radio? I’d love to hear your driving experiences.
Drive on!
