I am constantly grateful to the wonderful writers who nominate me for blogger awards and tags, and all those who include my account in Writer’s Lifts. The support from the #WritingCommunity is something I will never take for granted and I cherish each and every member.
Today, I am thankful to KayJ who writes for her amazing blog Unveiling The Mind for nominating me to participate.
The Share Your Passions tag is designed to inspire others as well as encourage self-love (something I am always happy to engage in!) It’s true that the internet needs more self-love in it. We are all prone to comparing ourselves to others, to thinking that someone else’s grass is greener. It’s so important that we celebrate ourselves and I think this tag is the perfect way to do that!
Here’s how it works according to the creator, Zuri Walker, absolutelytrueconfessions.com :
- Repost the #ShareYourPassion logo (above) on your acceptance post.
- Tag the blogger’s site that nominated you.
- Share a bit about your passion(s): what hobbies, outside of blogging, keep you busy in your free time? What would you like to accomplish with these things? How could you use your passion(s) to be a blessing to others and show them the love of God.
- Nominate ten other bloggers and spread the joy!
My Passions:
As most people will know, the biggest part of my life right now is my puppy, Clover the Cavachon. Although I’ve been a bit off track recently, I’m determined to train her properly. The end goal is to train her so well that she qualifies as a therapy dog so that I can spark a bit of joy in other people’s lives too.
Another passion of mine is hosting. I love having friends and family round for brunch, afternoon tea or an evening meal. I take great pleasure from setting the table with beautiful crockery, cooking from scratch and spending quality time with those I love.
Is it weird to say Christmas is a passion? I struggle to stop myself from listening to Christmas music in November. I go overboard buying gifts and I spend hours adding extra touches to the wrapping. I love visiting Christmas markets and my house would look like Santa’s Grotto if I had my way. Christmas is such a special time of year but I know it’s not always wonderful for everyone. Last year, I bought a dog a meal which you can do through Pets At Home. As I become more able to help others, I’d love to get involved with homeless shelters and children’s charities.
And finally, one of my newest passions is engaging with the food freedom community on Instagram. Food freedom is part of the body positivity and anti-diet community and it has really helped me to improve my relationship with food. Whenever I can, I share my knowledge and experience with others who talk to me about their struggles with their bodies and food. Food freedom isn’t easy to accept as most people believe they will gain a lot of weight if they give up dieting and restricting completely, however, this isn’t always the case and to be honest, we need to shake this fear of weight gain. Gaining weight is not the end of the world. It doesn’t make us valuable as a person. We shouldn’t even be evaluating our worth based on our body shape. I better stop before I go into a full rant, but if you feel like you struggle with food – give food freedom a go, or message me for more information!
Alright, now it’s time for me to tag some other wonderful writers in this:
- Alex Grace – Living Pretty Happy
- Zoe – Natural Nutrition
- Angel – Wonderlust with the DeVaulls
- Sarah – Insecure Housewife
- Michael – michael-erasmus.com
That’s all from me for this post. I hope you found it slightly interesting to know what I like outside of writing.
Let me know in the comments what your passions are!
