Last week I realised that, although I have been maintaining a good strength workout routine, I have been neglecting my flexibility and giving my muscles the nurturing they need. Which leads me to bring a Yoga Challenge to my blog!
This isn’t a very specific challenge. It isn’t one of the classic ’30 days challenges’. I have designed it this way so that you can start it whenever you want and fit it into your schedule in a way that works for you. Although I think the structure of monthly challenges is useful for beginners to get started, I also think it is important for us to challenge ourselves by starting something mid-week, mid-month or ever mid-year. Waiting for a Monday or a ‘first’ is another way of excusing yourself from not starting sooner, therefore this challenge is starting in the middle of February!
The Yoga Challenge is aimed at encouraging mindful movement during the working week. Practice Yoga everyday from Monday to Friday – that is the only rule. You can pick what time of day works best for you – my challenge for myself is to start my day with yoga. You can also pick how long you practise for. My personal goal is to practise for 20 minutes but I know that some days I may need to drop that down to 10. Be kind to yourselves. Don’t make this challenge stressful or it defeats the point entirely.
There is also no time limit for the challenge. You could try it only for one or two weeks or you could integrate it to coincide with lent and keep it going until Easter. Challenge a friend to it and make it a competition to see who can keep going for the longest!
Leave a comment and let me know what you think about the challenge! Do you have any suggestions? Will you be taking part?
Thanks for dropping by!
I’m in! I really like the idea of starting my day off with some relaxing yoga 🙂
Yay! Welcome to the club!
